This series of textbooks is a set of spoken textbooks for students without any previous Chinese learning experience and has been tried out by International Cultural Exchange School of Fudan University for many years. There are five books in this set. Conversational Chinese for Discussion, used by advanced readers, consists of 18 lessons in two volumes. Each lesson“tells”a story and discusses it. The exercises place emphasis on the development of students’abilities to use the language, such as retelling, talking to others, etc. The selected passages are new and close to life, which make students feel they have something to say. The accompanying 2 CDs are sold independently.
