It has 10 parts, namely "general theories", "Chinese acquisition", "teaching design and curriculum", "content and methods of teaching","textbook compilation and theories related", "intercultural communication and culture teaching", "testing and evaluation", "modern means of teaching", "teacher education" and "the history of TCFL". Each part is provided with an introduction and each paper with a brief review, making a concise summary of the researches in different areas and giving a relatively objective comment on the academic standing and value of the selected papers in their own areas. At the end of the book are two appendices: Citation Analysis of Chinese Teaching in the World(1987-2001) and Index to Papers on TCFL(1991-2004), which are important materials for reference.
