After locking down Earth's scientific advancements using their technology, the Trisolarans deployed a massive space fleet that directly targeted the solar system. Faced with an unprecedented crisis for human civilization, humanity formed an equally enormous space fleet. Simultaneously, utilizing the Trisolarans' transparent thought process flaw, the Planetary Defense Council (PDC) devised the 'Wallfacer Project.' Unexpectedly, sociology professor Luo Ji was chosen as one of the four 'Wallfacers' and embarked on a secret counterattack against the Trisolarans. Although the Trisolarans themselves couldn't penetrate human strategies, they engaged in a battle of wits with the 'Breakers' and 'Wallfacers' selected from among the ranks of Earth's betrayers.

In this struggle for the survival of civilizations, Luo Ji, initially evasive and hedonistic, gradually realized his responsibility and conceived a method to resist the invasion of the Trisolaran civilization. Scientific research officer Zhang Beihai attempted to interfere with the propulsion systems of spacecraft using a meteor shower. Nearly two hundred years later, he, having been selected for reinforcement in the future, successfully seized a warship and escaped before the human fleet was annihilated by the 'Droplet.' At this moment, Luo Ji confirmed the existence of the dark forest law among cosmic civilizations, where any civilization that reveals its location will be swiftly destroyed.

Leveraging this discovery, he threatened to publicly disclose the coordinates of the Trisolaran world to the entire universe, temporarily halting the Trisolaran invasion of the solar system and establishing a fragile strategic balance between Earth and the Trisolarans.
